Sapphire Current Camp
Purpose
We are a duly chartered Local Body of Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) serving the Valley of Memphis, TN and the Mid-South region. O.T.O. is dedicated to the high purpose of securing the Liberty of the Individual and his or her advancement in Light, Wisdom, Understanding, Knowledge, and Power through Beauty, Courage, and Wit, on the Foundation of Universal Brotherhood. To that end we provide sacramental, initiatory, and social events.
Sacraments
Our sacraments are Life and Joy, formally celebrated in the Gnostic Mass of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica, the official ritual (public and private) of O.T.O. Participation in the Gnostic Mass is not reserved for members only. Our sacraments are 'catholic' in the original definition of the word: universally available to all. The only requirement is that attendees communicate, that is, accept and take the eucharist at the end of the ceremony.
Initiation
Membership in O.T.O. is conferred through a series of initiation ceremonies called degrees. Initiation in O.T.O. provides a number of benefits. Initiates are welcome to attend private events including classes, private Gnostic Masses, and others' initiations (up to your current degree) both locally, nationally, and internationally.
Social Events
We currently host a monthly Social Feast on the first Tuesday of each month. The location occasionally varies but can be found on our Events page. We also celebrate public performances of the Gnostic Mass in Memphis.
